The Ministry of Education has informed us of their intent to enforce a change to the Berkley Enrolment Scheme as of 1 January 2022. The new zone is smaller than the current one and will no longer include addresses to the west of the Waikato river that were previously in our zone. Important points to note for current Berkley students:
- The zone change will not impact students currently enrolled at/attending Berkley.
- New students applying in 2021 for enrolment to Berkley as a year 7 in 2022 (in-zone and out-of-zone), will be enrolling under the current zone.
- As of 1 January 2022 all students (in-zone and out-of-zone) will be enrolling under the new scheme.
- After 1 January 2022, students who are no longer in the Berkley zone due to these changes and who are siblings of currently enrolled students or of previously enrolled students, will be classified as out-of-zone enrolments. In most cases these students will be identified as priority 2 or priority 3 in future ballot processes.
- Copies of the current and the incoming enrolment zones can be downloaded below.
